RAWALPINDI: Retired employees have expressed reservations over the government’s hike in salaries of government employees.
As government employees, pensioners are also worried about inflation. Retired employees demanded immediate increase in pensions from the government. He said that if government employees are being pushed into the mill of inflation, then pensioners are also facing difficulties. We are also ready to take to the streets for our demands if only these demands can be met.
The double standard by the government is reprehensible. If the government wants the senior citizens to reach D-Chowk and be subjected to shelling and torture, then it will solve their problems and increase their pensions, then we are ready for that. Yes, senior citizens have demanded the government to immediately increase the pensions of retired employees or else we too will turn to Islamabad for our legitimate demands.
