Lahore (1st Aug, 2019): Increase in price of petroleum products by Rs. 5 by the government as reportedly been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
According to reports of Baaghi TV, rise in price of petrol leads to Advocate Azhar Siddique challenging the government’s decision in the Lahore High Court.
According to reports, Federal government, OGRA and Petroleum Ministry, among others have been made respondents by Advocate Siddique in his petition. Sources confirm that the petitioner has termed the escalation in prices to be “illegal”. Moreover, other petitions against the rise in prices of petroleum prices are reportedly already pending hearing in Lahore High Court.
The petitioner has further stated that the government does not even have approval for the latest increase in prices of petrol from the cabinet. He further stated that he prays the court will issue orders against the enhancement of prices of petroleum.
