Rohingya boat sinks, 23 dead others missing
RAKHINE: Bodies of twenty-three Rohingyas fleeing from Myanmar’s state of Rakhine have reportedly been recovered after their boat sank, with many still missing. According to a BBC report, authorities have managed to recover the bodies of twenty-three, with thirty others still missing as the boat capsized before it reached Malaysia. On the other hand, eight survivors have been confirmed. The survivors have informed authorities they were fleeing to Malaysia when their boat carrying over fifty passengers sank and was abandoned by the crew on Sunday. Of those that lost their lives in the accident are thirteen women and ten men, reportedly all Muslims, according to a rescue team.
