Rolls-Royce Holdings plc which is a British multinational aerospace and defence company incorporated in February 2011 has claimed that they have built the world’s fastest electric aircraft. The company owns Rolls-Royce, a business established in 1904 which designs, manufactures, and distributes power systems for aviation and other industries.
At 387.4 miles per hour, the company has dubbed the aircraft the ‘Spirit of Innovation’. According to the company, during the test flight on November 16, the aircraft set a total of 3 records. It is the fastest electric ride in the world.
The company said that during the test flight on November 16, the aircraft set a total of 3 records, covering a distance of 1.86 miles at a speed of 345.4 miles per hour. The plane traveled 9.32 miles at the British Ministry of Defense’s military testing site at a speed of more than 300 miles per hour, which is 182 miles per hour higher than the previous record.
These figures have been submitted to the International Governing Body Federation Aeronautical International (FIA) for verification. While this aircraft flies with the help of a 400 kW electric power train, the best power battery pack has also been used for it.
Rolls-Royce’s director of flight operations flew the plane on a test flight, saying it was the most important moment of his career. Warren East, CEO of the company, said that the record of the world’s fastest electric aircraft is a great achievement.
“This aircraft is capable of electric flight and will help unlock technologies that we can incorporate into everyday life,” said Kwasi Kwarteng, the UK’s business secretary.
