MANCHESTER: Manchester United FC’s manager Erik Ten Hag stated that Cristiano Ronaldo could fit into his style of play but he’d first need to focus on his fitness and prove that he deserves a place in the team.
Legendary football star Cristiano Ronaldo could not join his team on their friendly pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia where Manchester United was defeated by Atletico Madrid.
However, the forward played forty-five minutes in a game against Rayo Vallecano. The match ended as a draw between Manchester United and Rayo Vallecano with each side scoring one goal.
Erik Ten Hag said that in order to get a place in the starting eleven, Ronaldo needs to get fit first. The manager added that he didn’t doubt that the Portuguese forward is a fantastic player. “He’s proved it many times,” he added.
However, Hag said that one is always judged on the basis of what he is now, what he is presenting now, what he is performing now.
Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is uncertain as the star told the club that he wished to leave in order to play in the Champions League. The British and international media has been closely following subject and it seems that the star is unhappy at his current club.
Manchester United will play in the second-tier Europa League after they could not qualify for Europe’s grandest football tournament, the UEFA Champions League.
