Saeed Ghani not to allow 100% attendance in schools

Lahore, 28th February: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that 100 per cent attendance of students will not be allowed across the province.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, Saeed Ghani said on Sunday that 100 per cent student attendance in schools across will not be allowed in Sindh until the coronavirus pandemic is eliminated.

hile addressing a press conference, the Sindh education minister said, “How will social distancing be observed if we allow the resumption of 100pc attendance in schools?”

He said educational institutions in Sindh will maintain 50 pc attendance.

According to earlier reports from Baaghi TV, Sindh Education Minister had opposed the decision taken by the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood saying that the announcement has created confusion among the students.

Shafqat Mahmood had earlier announced about the resumption of 100pc student attendance in all education institutions across the country from March 1.

Mahmood wrote on his official Twitter account, “Important announcement. All schools will go back to regular 5 day classes from Monday March 1. Restrictions imposed in some major cities on schools to conduct staggered classes was only till Feb 28.”

Mahmood’s tweet came after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) relaxed a number of restrictions on commercial activities and official work in view of the declining cases of COVID-19 in the country.

According to reports, NCOC has directed to remove the time limit restriction on commercial activities and condition of 50 per cent attendance at workplaces has also been lifted with immediate effect.
