Sajid and Nauman give oxygen to the dyeing art of finger spin

The finger spinning duo of Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali have yet again outspun the Englishmen on a wicket favouring the turn. Both men possess high levels of skill in what is known as the most unrecognised role in cricket the finger spin also known as the Off spin.

What makes both these men successful at the highest level is their uniqueness to their art. Both men compliment each other with Sajid Khan being the quicker of the two with more turn and purchase off the wicket, whilst Nauman Ali relies more on the art of flight, guile and immaculate line and length.

Not a classic side on high action instead a very energetic approach to the wicket with a fast arm action and big turn on the ball.

Line and length 8/10

With immaculate line and length which seems to get a lot of purchase on the ball and troubles the best of the batsmen.

Tactical 8/10

Knows where his strengths are and capitalises on them and knows his limitations of flight and hence does not rely much on the flight and air due to his fast arm action release.

Whilst sajid khan relies heavily on the big turn Nauman ali basis his bowling on flight and release above the eye line inviting the batsman forward for a stumping or a mis timed shot.

Nauman alis action is poetry in motion. A classical sideways on action with a beautifully controlled approach and high front arm. His action would make the great Derek Underwood proud.

Line and length 9/10

With his action tailor made for flight nauman ali lands the ball right on the Money more often then not. Excellent alignment in his action ensures all his energy going into one target maximising his line and length.

Tactical 8/10

Whilst Nauman is beautifully composed as a left arm finger spinner he can add a bit more variety to keep the batsman guessing with an arm ball or add a bit more revolutions on the ball at release as a surprise weapon adding to his already high skill bowling attributes.

After witnessing some outstanding performances one can assume their different tactics as finger spinners has given this dyeing art a breath of fresh air as many more test wickets will be taken by these fine craftsmen from Pakistan.
