Lahore, 28thb April: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shehzad Akbar has sent a legal notice to the former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) chief Bashir Memon. According to reports, Shahzad Akbar on Wednesday refuted the allegations by Bashir Memon calling them false and has filed a defamation suit seeking legal action. According to sources, at the allegations made by Bashir Memon on Tuesday, Shehzad Akbar had said that he would accuse Memon of misrepresentation and slander, hence, legal action would be taken against him which he has acted on today. SAPM Akbar sent a legal notice through his lawyers, stating that the baseless allegations were an attempt to damage the client’s reputation. As per reports, Shahzad Akbar has sent a notice to Bashir Memon for Rs. 50 crore in damages. The legal notice also demanded an unconditional apology for the allegations.
