Pakistan’s former Test cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq is set to join Pakistan cricket team as an Interim Head Coach for the T20 World Cup, his role was announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) through a release.  

According to the details, Saqlain played 49 Test matches and 169 One Day Internationals (ODI) for Pakistan between 1995 and 2004. He took 208 Test and 288 ODI wickets, he was known as a trend-setter with the invention of DOOSRA. 

Saqlain’s coaching resume is also a strong one, as he coached the England team, on 28 May 2016, he was appointed by the ECB as England’s spin consultant for the home series against Pakistan. He also gets an extension for his same role on England’s tour to India in 2016.

He was also part of England’s world cup winning team in the coaching staff. Saqlain has vast experience of coaching other teams: West Indies, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Australia, Somerset & Middlesex county in various roles.

It is to be noted that the upcoming T20 World Cup will be starting from October 17, 2021 till November 14, 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.
