SAS Dismissed Employees Protest Outside Parliament, Airport

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) employees are shocked at the actions of their former employer, once the flagship of the Scandinavian fair labour model, now actively restructuring its organization with one goal: to lower costs regardless of the human price.

According to the details, the Scandinavian flag carrier have created two new divisions, SAS Connect (previously known as SAS Ireland) and SAS Link. As the need for pilots arises again, the airline is recruiting them through in-house staffing agencies, and terminated SAS employees are left behind seeing their old jobs re-posted.

The terminated pilots had a legal right of return to their old jobs when the demand for air travel returned, as it now has. The flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden has circumvented this legal right by hiring to their “new” divisions.

It is to be remembered that few days ago Scandinavian Airlines had announced that masks are no longer a requirement for passengers flying within or between Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. This new policy — which went into effect on Monday, October 18 — reflects an effort from these nations to return to pre-pandemic normalcy.
