Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat in Perth Test vs hosts Australia but there was very little moment to cherish for battet Saud Shakeel who registered a unique World Record of his own.

The Pakistan middle order batter Saud Shakeel is the first batsman in the 146-year history of Test cricket to achieve the rare feat of scoring 20 or more runs in 15 consecutive innings right from the start of his Test career. Saud accomplished this record during Pakistan’s second innings of Perth Test, as they were chasing 450-run target.

Shakeel surpassed the previous record held by Sir Everton Weekes, who managed a streak of 14 innings.

Earlier this year, Saud had brought up his seventh half-century on the third day of the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Colombo. This feat made Shakeel the first batter in Test history to score a fifty in each of the first seven Tests.

Shakeel surpassed the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Basil Butcher, Saeed Ahmad, and Bert Sutcliffe, who scored fifty or more runs in each of their first six Test matches.
