Saudi Arabia extends visas of Ukrainians on humanitarian grounds

Mar 18, 2022: According to a report by Reuters, Saudi Arabia issued a royal directive extending tourist and business visas of Ukrainian citizens without fees or fines for humanitarian considerations, as per state news agency SPA on Friday.

The extension will be automatic without the need to visit the migration authorities.

According to the Saudi Gazette, Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports announced on Thursday the extension of visas for Ukrainians in the Kingdom for humanitarian considerations, whether they are tourists or businessmen.

It comes in implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman’s royal directive. Extending visas for Ukrainians will be implemented without fees or fines.

Passports explained that the extension will be carried out automatically in cooperation with the National Information Center.

Earlier this month, the Kingdom had announced that Ukrainians’ visas would be extended for three months after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received a phone call from Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

During the call, the leaders had discussed crisis in Ukraine. In this regard, the Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom’s support for everything that contributes to de-escalating the crisis, its readiness to exert efforts to mediate between all parties, and its support for all international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis politically.
