Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha stated that conversations are underway with Saudi Arabia over cash support and oil borrowing.
In an interview in Islamabad, Aisha Ghaus Pasha said Pakistan is suffering from food insecurity despite the agriculture industry being its backbone.
The Minister of State for Finance said that there have been large-scale losses due to floods, one-third of the area was submerged in water, 33.3 million people were affected, standing crops were destroyed and 1.5 million animals were effected.
Pasha said that the restoration of employment of flood affected people should be the first priority.
She further added, Pakistan has continuous contacts with the Islamic brotherhood countries, discussions are going on with Saudi Arabia on economic cooperation, cash support and loan oil are being discussed with Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates also wants to invest in Pakistan.
