Saudi Aviation Authority resumes the international flight operation
Lahore, 18th May: International flights from Saudi Arabia have resumed after they were closed during the holy month of Ramadan. Saudia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed that international flights have been resumed after they have been halted till May 17 in order to curb the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia. GACA said that 385 international flights departed from nine different airports in Saudi Arabia. However, most international flights departed from the capital, Riyadh’s Shah Khalid International Airport, from where 225 flights were operated. As many as 75 flights were flown from Jeddah’s Abdul Aziz Airport and 66 flights were operated from Dammam’s Shah Fahad Airport. From Riyadh’s King Khalid Airport, the first flight left for Sarajevo just after 1 pm Strict measures have been taken in view of COVID-19 and a few seats have been allotted for emergencies. A statement issued by the Passport Department said that Saudi nationals who have received both doses of the vaccine will be allowed to travel. While those who had received one dose will also be eligible to travel if they have been vaccinated 14 days before traveling.
