SC bench hearing military courts pleas dissolved after 2 judges raise objections

The Supreme Court heard petitions filed against the trial of civilians in military courts held on Thursday.

A nine-member bench hearing the vase has now been dissolved after Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Sardar Tariq objected to the bench formation.

Justice Isa said he did not consider this bench as a bench until the Practice and Procedure case is decided.

“We will find a way out,” Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked.

“I am not refusing to accept a decision, I am talking about a procedure,” Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said, adding that, “We currently have four applications before us. The first application was by Imran Niazi. I do not recognize this bench as a bench.”

Now a 7-member bench will hear the case at 1:30 pm.

Later, the 7-member bench conducted the hearing in which Latif Khosa presented arguments and the case hearing has been announced till Saturday as the apex court sought arguments from the AGP and other petitioner in the case.
