SCO Summit: We have to Work Together for Economic Development & Stability, Premier Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Welcoming the leaders and delegates for the SCO Summit at Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, Premier Shehbaz Sharif delivered the inaugural address.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, welcomed the participants as they arrived at the venue after which a group photo session was conducted. Then the PM delivered his inaugural address to commence the Summit.

In his opening address, Premier Sharif, welcomed the esteemed guests and thanked them for participating in the summit. He said that the cooperation between the member states should be further enhanced. It is an honour for me to chair the meeting, said the PM.

SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) countries account for approximately forty percent of the world’s population, and must together move forward towards economic development and stability.

In attendance at the Convention Center are, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Iranian Minister of Industry Mohammad Atabak, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Premier of Belarus Roman Alexandrovich Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, Kazakhstan’s Premier Oljas Bektenov, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan Cabinet Akylbek Japarov, Russian Premier Mikhail Mishustin, Chinese PM Li Qiang and Uzbek PM Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov.
