Karachi: A second street library has been set up in Lyari area of Sher-e-Quaid.
According to details, a second street library was set up at Baloch Chowk in Lyari area of Karachi. The street library was set up in collaboration with DMC.
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalawani will inaugurate the Street Library on August 14 at 5 pm.
Iftikhar Shalawani said that the interest and opportunities for reading would increase from the street library, adding that more street libraries were being set up in Karachi.It may be recalled that work for the establishment of the second street library in Karachi was started on July 5.
It may be recalled that the first Street Library was inaugurated in Karachi last year on the birth of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The purpose of this roadside library is to provide an opportunity for travelers to read books while traveling and waiting for a ride, the establishment of this unique library has been hailed as a welcome step by the citizens.
