Security forces kill terrorist, apprehend two others during IBO in KP

Jan 14, 2022: Security forces killed one terrorist and arrested two others during an Intelligence Operation (IBO) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tribal region, the army’s media wing said Friday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forces conducted the operation on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Miranshah area of ​​North Waziristan. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, he added. The ISPR added that an area clearance operation was underway to find any other terrorists in the area.

In addition, a Pak Army soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Jani Khel area of ​​Bannu district. Terrorists opened fire on a military post in the Jani Khel area on the night of January 13/14 (Thursday night), according to ISPR.

The statement read, “Army forces launched an immediate response and effectively located the terrorists’ hideout.”

“During the exchange of fire, a soldier, Sarfraz Ali, 26, a resident of Vehari, embraced martyrdom,” it added. At least four soldiers were martyred and one terrorist was arrested during an IBO operation in North Waziristan last month, the ISPR said in a statement.

As per the ISPR statement, the security forces had conducted the operation in the area on the reported presence of terrorists. During the intense exchange of firing with the terrorist, four soldiers lost their lives, including; Havaldar Munawar, 40, resident of Bahawalnagar; Sepoy Zaka Ullah, 31, resident of Laki Marwat; Sepoy Farhan, 34, resident of Kohat; and Sepoy Sheraz, 30, resident of Abbottabad
