Senate Elections: PM Khan severely annoyed with a PTI leader

Lahore, 3rd March: Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his displeasure to the PTI leader Shehryar Khan Afridi.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, after a possibility of losing Shehryar Khan Afridi’s vote, PM Khan rebuked the lawmaker.

PM Imran Khan said that he should not have made such a mistake and that everyone was told how the vote his cast.

Afridi’s vote is likely to be wasted and he has reapplied for the ballot paper. Shehryar Afridi could not give a satisfactory answer to the Prime Minister.

Shehryar Afridi said in the petition that the presiding officer should decide on my request before the voting time ends and I should be given the opportunity to vote.

Shehryar Afridi added in the petition that he was not feeling well for some days and could not attend party meetings regarding election preparations.

When he reached to cast his vote he asked the staff to guide him. But nobody assisted him in explaining the procedure. Subsequently, he signed the ballot paper instead of writing the number on it.

Shehryar Afridi filed the petition immediately after consulting Prime Minister Imran Khan and cabinet members. The Returning Officer received a copy of the petition and hinted at announcing the decision.

Earlier in the day, former President Asif Ali Zardari also cast his vote, but for the first time, his ballot paper was lost. The ballot paper was re-issued to Asif Zardari.

Asif Zardari’s mistake spoiled the ballot paper after which Asif Zardari requested the Returning Officer to re-issue the ballot paper, the second ballot paper was issued on request, the former president cast his vote.
