Senate strongly slams French President Macron’s views, blasphemous caricatures
ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Senators on Monday strongly condemned immoral views of French President Marcon’s on Islam and adopted a resolution to condemn publication of blasphemous caricatures in France.
The Leader of the House in the Senate Dr. Shahzad Waseem moved the resolution which was unanimously passed by the House which has strongly urged the Parliaments and the international community to come up with a framework and means to stop recurrence of such acts in future so as to ensure peaceful coexistence as well as social and interfaith harmony.
Speaking on the resolution, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Noor ul Haq Qadri said the House has passed a resolution to condemn immoral act of blasphemy in France.
He said this resolution is voice of the Muslim of Pakistan and the whole world. He said Muslim’s sentiments were hurt deeply due to immoral act of blasphemy in France.
Leader of house in Senate said whole Islamic world expressed anger but two Muslim world leaders PM Imran Khan and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan strongly and openly condemned it.
He said Muslims were targeted through this act, adding, it was foolish and irresponsible act by the President of France. He said that he would propose to Prime Minister for convening an International convention on this issue.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan said entire Muslim Ummah was extremely in pain due to shameful act of France President.
He added that France President has brought shame to the people of France adding, that Islam is religion of peace.
Dr. Shahzad said the entire Muslim Ummah demanding an unconditional apology from the President of France in this regard. He added that this was an act to promote hatred based on religion.
He further said they, being Muslim, respect all prophets and expect same from others to honour and respect our Holy Prophet.
He said Organization of Islamic Cooperation should stand up for the honour of the Prophet Peace Be Upon Him, adding that our Holy Prophet is close to heart of every Muslim.
Speaking on the resolution, Senator Faisal Javed Khan said leader of the House tabled a resolution which was endorsed by the House. He said they all condemned publication of blasphemous caricature.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has raised voice against the blasphemous caricatures, adding that he has given a clear message to the world in this regard.
Senator Javed said PM had also wrote to Chief of Facebook in this regard and demanded all political parties to stand with PM Khan on the issue.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmad in his remarks strongly condemned the publication of blasphemous caricatures and said OIC meeting should be convened on the issue, adding that visible steps should be taken.
Senator Sirajul Haq said the government should deport French Ambassador on this issue and urged boycott of French goods. He said OIC meeting should be convened and Pakistan should take lead of it.
Senator Azam Khan Swati said PM Imran Khan in United Nations had taken up this issue and the world should take notice of such acts hurting sentiments of Muslims.
Senator Muhammad Javed Abbasi strongly condemned the blasphemous act and said Pakistan’s reaction should be more aggressive in this regard.
Senator Atta ur Rehman said diplomatic relations should be terminated with France, adding that French President has tried to sabotage world peace. He said such people are terrorist in reality who were promoting hate and such unacceptable acts.
Senator Mushahidullah Khan said France immoral act of blasphemy and caricature was unacceptable for the whole Muslim Ummah, adding that government should take visible and stern action on it.
Senator Muhammad Ali Saif also strongly condemned France for the blasphemous caricatures and immoral views of French President. He said the government should break diplomatic relations with France.
Senator Mohsin Aziz also strongly condemned the statement of France president, adding that with his statement all the Muslim Ummah sentiments were hurt. H said 60 lakh Muslims were living in France and they were also hurt with this statement and blasphemous caricature.
Senator Sayed Mushahid Hussain said in France and 14 other European countries who denied holocaust might be arrested might be imprisoned.
Senator Tahir Bizenjo, Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim, Senator Kalsoom Parveen, Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq and Senator Sitara Ayaz also strongly condemned the blasphemous caricatures in France and statement of France President.
