Senator Sherry Rehman Condemns PM’s Statement on Women

BaaghiTV: PPP Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman has condemned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement regarding women’s clothing and veils.

Sherry Rehman said that our law and religion are very clear on the issue that respect for women is the responsibility of the observer, no man has the right to use their clothes for violence, detention and crimes against them.

She expressed her feelings stating that the PM’s statement is shocking. Doesn’t Imran Khan know that he is justifying the criminals with such a statement? The Prime Minister has no right to say such a thing.

Sherry Rehman further said that the statement of the Prime Minister is very irresponsible and reprehensible.

PM Khan had given an interview to the American journalist Jonathan in which he answered to a question that women were sexually assaulted by wearing short dresses. PM said that men receive invitation and encouragement through women short clothes and inappropriate dressing.

She added that there is a big difference between our society and Western society. So it is very stupid that PM has spoken of depriving women of their freedom.
