Serena Williams’ Wimbledon career ends in tears

Lahore, 30th June: American Tennis legend Serena Williams ended her Wimbledon career in tears last night during the 24th Grand Slam. Serena Williams’s dreams of winning an 8th Wimbledon singles’ title and adding up to Margaret Court’s Grand Slam singles record of 24 ended in tears on Tuesday. The 39-year-old was leading 3-1 in the first set of her first-round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus when she slipped and hurt her left ankle. The seven-times Wimbledon winner was clearly in pain on Center Court and was immediately taken for her medical treatment. Williams returned after receiving medical treatment but called it a day at 3-3 and walked off from Centre Court in tears. It is the first time that Tennis star has quit in the first round of Wimbledon.
