Khartoum: A cargo plane crashed in South Sudan, killing seven people and injuring a woman.
According to a report of a foreign news agency, a cargo plane flying from the capital of South Sudan to the southern state of Bahr al-Ghazal crashed, killing seven people and injuring a woman.
According to the report, the plane crashed in a plain area a short distance from the airport, which caused a terrible fire in the plane and the plane was completely burnt to ashes.
According to the South Sudanese Minister of Transport, the cargo plane had five passengers and three crew members on board, killing four passengers and three crew members.
The transport minister said all three crew members were from Russia while all the passengers were locals, the condition of the woman injured in the accident was out of danger.
According to the report, the Aviation Authority has started an investigation into the plane crash.
It should be noted that in 2018, a Southwest Company plane crashed in the East Lakes regions of South Sudan, as a result of which 17 people were killed.
Following the plane crash, South Sudanese President Silva Kiir banned 20-year-old planes in April 2019 to prevent air crashes, after which the planes were restricted from carrying cargo.
