Lahore, 18th April: Severe clashes are being reported between police and workers of the banned organization in Lahore.
According to Baaghi TV, reports poured in about clashes between Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) workers, the proscribed organization and police at Chowk Yateem Khana in Lahore on Sunday.
As per our reports, activists of the banned Tehreek have reportedly held police officers hostage, where three policemen were arrested and four others were injured. The condition of one of them is said to be critical.
To target the police personnel, TLP activists are reportedly carrying iron slingshots, wearing large glasses with masks under them, and have bags full of stones held to their waists.
Meanwhile, fierce clashes are going on between the police and the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik at Chowk Yateem Khana and Scheme Mor. Several people here are seriously injured and Rescue 1122 have been called to take them to the hospital.
According to the reports received by Baaghi TV, two TLP workers have also been killed.
It is to be noted that the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaikk is protesting against the government to release their party chief Amir Saad Hussain Rizvi. After his arrest early this week, Labbaik activists closed the country and clashes broke out with police in various places.
Following the incidences of protests and violence across the country by Tehreek-e-Labbaik, the government declared it a proscribed organization under the anti-terrorism law.
