Riyadh, 21st August: A royal decree issued in Saudi Arabia on Friday has fired several government officials for alleged abuse of power, alleged corruption and mismanagement, and ordered some to retire.

The Al-Ala Governorate has launched an investigation into allegations against the Royal Commission, the Red Sea Company, and the Al-Sudah Development Company for encroaching on Red Sea lands and dismissing certain officials for unauthorized actions.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Royal Commission for Al-Ala Governorate, the Red Sea Company, and the Soda Development Company had received 5,000 complaints of abuse of power over the Red Sea project lands.

There have been complaints of abuse in the country, and unauthorized actions by these companies have exacerbated environmental problems in the area, prompting the government to order the officials of these companies and other entities to step down or retire.
