According to reports, strong tremors were felt in most parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. The quake which has been measured at 5.5 on the Richter scale, sent people fleeing their homes in fear.

According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the quake was 5.5 on the Richter scale. Its depth is reported to be 10 km underground, and 58 km from the center Quetta, near Mount Mehrdar and Harnai.
The quake affected Mastung, Pishin, Dakki Harnai, Qila Saifullah and Qila Abdullah besides Quetta. The quake was so severe that people came out of their houses and started reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.
