The Federal Cabinet meets today (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair to decide about the suspicious licenses of pilots issued by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).  According to details, the agenda of the meeting includes discussion on suspicious licenses issued by CAA and cabinet will also decide about fate of these pilots. The officials of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will also brief the cabinet on the issue. The CAA is the regulator of the civil aviation sector in Pakistan under the PCAA Ordinance, 1982. According to the rules, a regulator should be independent of the government and the industry that it regulates. However, this unfortunately, is not the case with the CAA. The secretary, aviation division, acts as the chairman of the CAA’s board.
