February 23, 2021: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi holds informal meeting with his Sri Lankan counterpart Danish Gunawardena on the occasion of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, the two discussed a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations and the promotion of bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields of mutual interest. The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister welcomed the Foreign Minister on his arrival in Sri Lanka.
“Pakistan attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Sri Lanka over the past several decades and vows to expand and strengthen bilateral relations with Sri Lanka.” Shah Mahmood.
He said, “This visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan is an expression of this determination. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have vast opportunities to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields including bilateral trade, investment, health, education, agriculture and science and technology. Pakistan stands as a proud partner in Sri Lanka’s human resource development, security cooperation, fight against terrorism, development and prosperity.”
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Danish Ganawardena said that the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan would be helpful in promoting relations and cooperation between the two countries.
