Shahbaz Sharif links peace with India to resolution of Kashmir dispute

PML-N President and prime minister candidate Shahbaz Sharif has said that his party wants peace with India but first New Delhi would have to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

Shahbaz Sharif said, “My first priority is national harmony. We want peace with India, but peace is not possible without resolution of the Kashmir issue.”

Talking to a private TV channel in Islamabad, Shahbaz Sharif also said that the new cabinet would be formed in consultation with the opposition leaders.

“I would start a new era in the country and promote mutual respect,” Shahbaz Sharif said, adding that he would try to give relief to the people by improving the economy of the country.

Indian media particularly India Today channel flashed the statement as breaking news saying “Shehbaz Sharif who is now possilbly the next PM of Pakistan has raked up the Kashmir issue.”
