Oct 4, 2021: Today, during the launch of the Kamyab Pakistan Programme, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen promised action after allegations were made against him in the Pandora Papers.

Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday launched ambitious Kamyab Pakistan Programme (KPP) in Islamabad to facilitate the vulnerable segments of the society.

On the occasion, Special Youth Assistant Usman Dar said that the Kamyab Pakistan Programme will help in empowering the deprived sections, giving interest free loans to farmers, up to 500,000 interest free business for successful business program.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen was also present at the successful Pakistan program. Shaukat Tareen said that a successful Pakistan program will help empower the deprived sections, long-term plans for economic development have to be made.

Taking steps for a stable economy, the Prime Minister Imran Khan said that work should be done to empower the poor, nothing has been done in the past for the income of the middle class, continuity of policies is essential for economic growth, the government should work more for sustainable development. Interest free loans of up to Rs 500,000 will be provided for businesses. He further added that the recovery rate of small loans is 99%.

Earlier, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said on social networking site Twitter that the government has the power of accountability, accountability will be held in a transparent manner and that he will take action on the allegations against him.

He clarified his position saying that in 2014, ME Developers LLC Tariq bin Laden wanted to invest in Silk Bank. He got in-principle approval from the State Bank of Pakistan. Tariq bin Laden decided to open four offshore accounts after approval from the State Bank.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen further said that before anything happened, bin Laden decided not to invest due to the law and order situation in Pakistan. No bank account was opened and no transaction took place and companies were shut down.

On the other hand, there are reports that important decisions will be taken regarding the future course of action to be adopted in light of the Pandora revelations in the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
