SHC stops govt from awarding development contracts

A hearing was held in the Sindh High Court against the World Bank and the Sindh government’s use of three billion rupees funds for Karachi’s infrastructure, in which the court has stopped the government from awarding more contracts.

According to the court, the projects for which the first contracts were issued could be reviewed, detailing the cost and nature of each tender.

During the hearing, Independent politician, Lala Muhmmad Waqas Vicky said that adequate time should be given to provide such details.

On which the court said that the matter is of an important nature, they cannot give more than a week.

The court adjourned further hearing till November 29.
