Shehbaz Sharif released from Kot Lakhpat Jail after seven months
Lahore, 23rd April: PML-N Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) after approving Shehbaz Sharif’s bail on Thursday, released him from prison on Friday.
Earlier today, Shehbaz Sharif’s release order was issued by an accountability court. The release order said that the bonds against the bail have been accepted by the Honorable Lahore High Court.
According to reports, as soon as the PML-N leader came out of the prison, he was warmly welcomed by his supporters.
He was driven to his residence at Model Town, Lahore where PML-N party leaders and vice president Maryam Nawaz was also present to greet him on his release from jail after seven months.
It is to be noted that yesterday a three-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and comprising Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi granted bail to Shehbaz Sharif.
