Sheikh Rashid Will Go to Jail Immediately, Big Decision!
Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed will meet the leader of banned Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) Hafiz Saad Rizvi in Kot Lakhpat Jail and hold talks. In the meeting, the Interior Minister may be accompanied by the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Provincial Minister of Law of Punjab.
On the other hand, TLP has announced its negotiating committee. Mufti Muhammad Wazir Ali, Allama Ghulam Abbas Faizi, Mufti Muhammad Umair Al-Zahiri are included in the committee negotiating with the government on behalf of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan. Mufti Muhammad Wazir Ali will head the committee which will hold talks with the government and the leadership will be informed of whatever decision is taken.

An important meeting on law and order situation was held in Lahore on the direction of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. The meeting reviewed the protests of the banned organization from various angles. Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was given a detailed briefing on the law and order situation and the strategy of law enforcement agencies. The meeting was attended by Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Ali Amin Gandapur, Raja Basharat, Ejaz Chaudhry, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Additional Secretary Home and Commissioner Lahore.
Yesterday, 44 policemen were injured and 2 were martyred due to stone pelting and violence by the protesters. The martyrs include Head Constable Ayub and Constable Khalid Javed. Services Hospital Lahore has discharged 8 out of 15 personnel while 7 are undergoing treatment. Of the 16 injured personnel at Mayo Hospital, 12 are discharged and 2 are undergoing treatment. Mian Munshi Hospital has 7 personnel, one discharge, 6 are undergoing treatment, Nawaz Sharif and Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital have one personnel under treatment. 3 personnel were brought to Gangaram Hospital, 2 discharged, one is undergoing treatment.

Earlier, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has temporarily suspended mobile phone service from Lahore to Gujarat. The Interior Ministry has directed the PTA to block mobile phone signals and internet. Mobile phone service will be suspended in Kala Shah Kaku, Muridke, Kamunke, Gujranwala, Wazirabad and Gujarat. The Interior Ministry informed the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority of the decision.
Interior Ministry approves internet shutdown in several areas of Lahore. The Interior Ministry has decided to suspend internet service at the request of the Punjab Home Department. Internet service will remain closed in Data Darbar and Shahdara in Lahore. Internet service will also be suspended in the new and old Ravi Bridge areas. Wi-Fi, fixed line DSL service will be suspended in different areas of Lahore. Internet service will not be available up to a limit of 5 km adjacent to 3 specific areas.
On the other hand, the protest march of a religious party in Islamabad has come up with emergency measures to deal with possible protests. According to informed sources, heavy contingents have been called in from other provinces to protect the federal capital from the protesters. Around 30,000 police personnel have been requested from Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). From Punjab, KPK and Kashmir, 10 thousand young men and officers have been called. The three provinces have been instructed to bring along with troops the equipment to deal with the protesters. The Federal Ministry of Interior sent letters to three secretaries to take the troops to Islamabad. It has been decided to keep the federal capital safe from protesters.

According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, the Express Chowk of the red zone is a diversion for both sides of the traffic on the entrance and exit routes. Commuters should use Margalla Road, Ayub Chowk, Nadra Chowk and Dhokri Chowk as alternatives. The Ninth Avenue Signal is a diversion on both sides of the traffic on IJP Road, Faizabad and Stadium Road.

Islamabad Police spokesperson said that citizens should use Ninth Avenue to enter Islamabad and Peshawar Road to enter Rawalpindi. Metro bus is operational from IJP Road towards Pakistan Secretariat in Islamabad, however it remains suspended in Rawalpindi. Murree Road, Faizul Islam Stop, Faizabad has diversions on both sides of the traffic. Citizens traveling from Islamabad to Murree Road Rawalpindi should use it on Islamabad Highway.

Proscribed TLP’s chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi, son of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, was arrested on April 12, 2021 from Scheme Mor Chowk, Lahore. Police arrested Hafiz Saad Rizvi to stop the protest of April 16, 2021 after their talks failed with the government and the government refused to deport the French ambassador from the country.
After the arrest of Saad Rizvi, there was an uproar across the country and the government banned TLP. The party has filed an appeal against the ban, which will be decided by the government. Hafiz Saad is still in jail and his party is banned.
