Sherry Rehman calls PM Khan egoistic and ruthless

Lahore, 8th January: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) vice president Sherry Rehman lambasted on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday for not responding to the victims to Machh incident.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, Sherry Rehman said that Prime Minister Imran Khan thinks that people who have asked him to fulfil their demands are blackmailing him.

Rehman tweeted on her social media account sharing the news clipping from The News.

She responded, “He should apologise to the bereaved families for saying this and go there right away. If Raja Parvez as PM can go why can’t he?

Reacting to PM Khan’s speech, made a few hours ago, the PPP leader said on Geo TV, “Egoistic and ruthless prime minister has set the worst example. His statement was an insult to corpses of the slain coal miners.”

She slammed the premier saying, “This fascist prime minister has no empathy for the people. The only brother of six sisters is dead and they have no man left in their family.”

“Does the prime minister still think that their demand is unjust?” she asked.

Rehman added that the prime minister has made the demand of going to Quetta, in-person, a matter of his ego.

It is to be noted that people of the Hazara community have staged a continuous sit-in protest in Quetta in freezing weather to demand justice for the coal miners brutally killed in Machh last week.

The bodies of the deceased have been kept on the Quetta-Sibi highway (Western Bypass), near the Hazara Town.

A few hours earlier Baaghi TV reported that PM Imran Khan had said that he was ready to go to Quetta if the Hazara community buries the dead, but making the burial conditional on his visit is inappropriate.

It may be remembered that on Sunday, 10 coal miners were killed and four others were seriously injured after armed attackers opened fire at them at the Machh coalfield in Balochistan’s Bolan district.
