LAHORE: Postmortem of the Sri Lankan manager killed in Sialkot violence has been completed and the resultant reports reveal some disturbing facts.

According to sources, most of the body of Priyantha Kumara, the Sri Lankan manager who was killed by an angry mob in Sialkot, was completely burnt. However, the lower part of his legs and feet were safe from fire. Upon analysis, it was found that his leg bones were crushed as a result of severe beating.

Sources reported that after the completion of postmortem report, the Punjab Home Ministry contacted the Sri Lankan embassy. Priyantha Kumara’s body will be flown to Islamabad today on a special flight from where Sri Lankan embassy officials will take the body to Sri Lanka.

The police are investigating the tragic death of Priyantha Kumara and raids are being carried out to arrest the culprits. Farhan, labelled as the main accused in the incident, has been arrested while 118 more people are also under police custody. Moreover, 900 people have been registered under charges of alleged terrorism.

On Friday, workers at a leather factory in Sialkot tortured and killed a Sri Lankan manager. The victim was accused of taking down a religious sticker. The angry mob tortured and dragged the body of the Sri Lankan manager into a square, setting it on fire. Several videos and photos of the incident surfaced on social media, leaving the viewers shocked and traumatized.

Reacting to the Sialkot tragedy, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said, “I firmly assure the people of Sri Lanka that Imran Khan will bring those responsible to justice.”

In a statement released on the social networking site Twitter this Saturday, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa wrote that he was shocked by the killing of the Sri Lankan manager in Pakistan. He said that the people of Sri Lanka have faith in Prime Minister Imran Khan, and they are sure that he will bring all those who are responsible to justice.

It is also learned that Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has told his people that he knows Imran Khan well and that Imran Khan is strongly against religious extremism, he respects other religions and nations from the bottom of his heart and he is a good person.

On the other hand, sources from Islamabad reveal that Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured the Sri Lankan Prime Minister and the nation that the accused involved in this incident will be brought to justice and punished so that no one would dare to conspire such heinous acts in the future.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on this occasion and said that he shares the grief of the people of Sri Lanka in this hour of grief and also assured them that the culprits will soon be brought to book.

The Prime Minister also assured that he would extend all possible help and support to the family of the Sri Lankan manager.
