Sindh Government Vows Full Support for Artists

KARACHI — October 13, 2025: The Sindh government convened the inaugural meeting of its newly constituted Endowment Board for poor and deserving artists, actors, writers and poets. The session was chaired by Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and attended by Secretary Culture Khair Muhammad Kalwar, Ahmed Shah, Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Noorul Huda Shah, DG Culture Habibullah Memon, as well as renowned artists including Sanam Marvi, Rajab Faqeer, Ahsan Khan, Ayub Khoso, Syed Amjad Ali Shah, Yousuf Bashir, Mumtaz Bukhari, Noor Chakrani and Irfan Samon. The board reviewed more than 600 applications for financial aid and approved assistance in cases meeting the criteria set for deserving artists, poets and writers. Speaking after the meeting, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said the scrutiny process was completed with input from the members, who recommended support for eligible beneficiaries.
