Sindh to engage private hospitals and labs for COVID vaccination

Lahore, 16th March: Sindh government will engage private hospitals and labs for vaccinating people against the novel coronavirus.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, on Tuesday, the Sindh cabinet approved engaging private hospitals and laboratories for mass COVID19 vaccination across the province.

The cabinet met with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in the chair at the CM House, where it informed that the Sindh Health Department has so far received a total of 241,000 doses of a coronavirus vaccine while 130,000 healthcare workers have been jabbed against the coronavirus.

CM House Sindh informed on its Twitter handle, “Sindh Cabinet approves engagement of private hospital and lab for mass vaccination of COVID-19.”

It also said that:

* The health department has so far received 241,000 vaccines.

* The health department has vaccinated 130,000 doctors, informs the cabin.

Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab earlier urged the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to ramp up COVID-19 vaccination efforts in the country.

He tweeted, “I would urge the NCOC to expedite the vaccination process & also import an adequate number of vaccine doses.”

He added, “Thousands of field officers/staff, policemen, educational staff, media workers & lawyers continue to be exposed with everything open in the country on the orders of NCOC.”

It is to be noted that since last week, vaccination drive for elder citizens of 60 and above has begun in Punjab.
