Lahore, 5th February: Pakistani singer Bilal Saeed has clarified his side of the story after his shocking video went viral on social media.

Baaghi TV: A video of Bilal Saeed went viral on Thursday where he was seen hitting a man and a woman outside his residence in Lahore.

People on social media condemned the singer and his actions on hitting a woman.

However, Saeed has now come up with a clarification saying that violence against anyone is wrong but it was his right to protect himself and his loved ones if physically and verbally harmed and threatened.

Bilal issued a clarification statement on his Twitter account.

He wrote, “Every human has the right to live with dignity and security, regardless of gender. I am a believer of peace, however, I also believe in establishing boundaries when that peace is repeatedly compromised by another, regardless of gender.”

He further added, “When the safety and dignity of a person are violated and jeopardized over and over again, he, unfortunately, is left with no option but to react.”

He also shared the video of vandalism on his Instagram account and captioned it, “This is just a glimpse of what I have suffered.”

He wrote, “I never spoke about it. People should know that being famous is not a privilege but in fact, can be problematic sometimes. I believe in bodily autonomy and safety for all. Violence against anyone whether man or woman is wrong but It is my right to protect myself and my loved ones if I am physically and verbally harmed and threatened.”

He added, “I am not proud of engaging in a physical fight but I am only human and it was a reaction to all the torture I suffered. I am sorry that my fans had to see this side of me and I do not intend to support or promote violence.”
