Sinirlioğlu Appointed Special Coordinator for UN’s Afghanistan Assessment

The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres appointed Feridun Sinirlioğlu of Türkiye to lead an independent assessment to provide recommendations for addressing challenges faced by Afghanistan, the office of the UN spokesman announced. As “Special Coordinator,” Sinirlioğlu will lead the assessment with a view to providing “recommendations for an integrated and coherent approach,” the statement reads.
