Smart lockdown implemented in more areas of Lahore

Lahore: The government of Punjab has enforced smart lockdowns in more areas of the city to curb the rising cases of coronavirus.

According to the details, the areas of Lahore where Smart Lockdown has been implemented include New Muslim Town, Wahdat Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Iqbal Town, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Sherkot, Nawankot, Samanabad and Millat Park.

The administration has appealed to the citizens not to violate the lockdown and has also announced strict action against the violators of the lockdown.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 2,885 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. 124,191 in Punjab, 186,212 in Sindh, 50,078 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,501 in Balochistan, 4,746 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 33,061 in Islamabad and 7,390 in Azad Kashmir.

So far 5,827,852 people have been tested across the country. 33,610 new tests were performed during the last 24 hours. So far 370,474 patients have recovered while the condition of 2,486 patients is critical.

In Pakistan, 89 people died in one day from Corona, bringing the death toll from the virus to 8,487. 3,218 patients died in Punjab, 3,060 in Sindh, 1,419 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 341 in Islamabad, 169 in Balochistan, 98 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 182 in Azad Kashmir.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant for Health, said that the second wave of corona virus has gradually started in Pakistan. To deal with the second wave, SOPs will have to be strictly adhered to. By taking precautions we can deal with the second wave of corona.
