Lahore: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), under its Women Entrepreneurship Development Cell (WEDC) held an awareness session regarding financial services available in the banks for women. The session was organized in collaboration with Bank Alfalah to highlight the business facilitation services for women under “Banking on Equality” policy of the State Bank of Pakistan that has recently been introduced to reduce the Gender Gap in Financial Inclusion.

Ms. Nadia Jahangir Seth, General Manager Policy & Planning Division and Ms. Tania Buttar, Head WEDC addressed the session.

Ms. Nadia gave a detailed presentation to the Women Entrepreneurs on this occasion regarding Non-Financial advisory services to be provided by SMEDA. She also discussed various banking products available for women under Banking on Equality policy of the SBP.

The financial experts of Bank Alfalah explained the criteria of availing financial facilities under the SBP policy. The experts urged the women entrepreneurs to get their business houses registered and also maintain the account books properly so as to get the equal benefits from the financial products of the banks.

Women from diverse sectors participated the session and urged the organizers to continue such awareness session as a regular series.
