Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now married
Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now officially married. The couple, who have been dating for the past seven years, got married under the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s house in Mumbai. They completed the formalities of a civil marriage and are now officially husband and wife.
Sonakshi Sinha, acclaimed for her roles in films like Dabangg and Lootera, has been preparing for her big day with pre-wedding rituals and ceremonies at her Mumbai residence. The wedding reception, scheduled to take place at Bastian, Mumbai, is expected to be a star-studded affair with numerous Bollywood personalities, close friends, and family members in attendance.
Earlier, Zaheer Iqbal, who made his Bollywood debut with the film Notebook, was spotted leaving his house to join Sonakshi at her residence where the civil marriage ceremony was held. Sonakshi’s Heeramandi co-actor Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé, actor Siddharth, were also seen arriving at the actor’s house to share in her special day. Actor Aayush Sharma came with his wife Arpita Khan Sharma.
Zaheer’s father, Iqbal Ratansi, had previously confirmed that their marriage would not include Hindu or Muslim rituals. “It will have neither Hindu nor Muslim rituals. It will be a civil marriage,” he stated to Free Press Journal.
He also dismissed reports about Sonakshi converting to Islam, adding, “She is not converting, and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts, and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”
