Aiden Markam’s sublime century and skipper Temba Bavuma’s gritty half century power South Africa to clinch their maiden ICC World Test Championship on Saturday.
With a day of play still remaining, Bavuma-led South Africa chased down the target.
Bedingham (21) and Verreynne (4) remained unbeaten to take their side comfortably past the winning line.
Chasing a target of 282 runs in the fourth innings, the Proteas entered the field with determination and delivered.
The win is South Africa’s first ICC final win in 27-years. The side last won the ICC Champions Trophy in 1998, which remained their lone ICC trophy till today.
