Local officials in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province say they have taken further measures to facilitate investment and support traders.
They said that unlike in the past when capital was leaving the country, now both domestic and foreign investors are coming to Afghanistan for investment.
During an accountability session of the Spin Boldak municipality, local officials spoke about supporting traders and expanding investment opportunities in the district.
“At present, investors from various countries are coming to Afghanistan and investing here. This is not the time for investors to leave the country; rather, they should invest here. Pakistan only deceives our investors and seizes their capital,” stated Rahimullah Mahmood, the district governor of Spin Boldak.
“We support traders and investors. We provide them with facilities in various sectors, and based on local authority, we even cooperate with them regarding taxes,” said Lutfullah Latifi, the mayor of Spin Boldak.
However, some traders in Spin Boldak claim that Pakistan is attempting to harm trade in the district and has repeatedly urged them to transfer their capital across the disputed hypothetical Durand Line.
