LAHORE: Sri Lanka tour to Pakistan is in extreme danger as they “reassess” security situation in Pakistan.
According to details Sri Lanka’s cricket board on Wednesday revealed that they received a warning that their national team could be the target of a terror attack during the upcoming six match tour in Pakistan.
The board stated that the Sri Lankan Prime Minister’s Office has advised them to “reassess the situation” after it received “reliable information of a possible terrorist threat” against the national squad ahead of the Pakistan tour.
In response to the development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also stated, “We have seen the SLC statement but are not privy to any information or intelligence report relating to safety of the Sri Lankan teams.”
On the other hand, Ten Senior players include Thesara Perera, Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Niroshan, Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal, Dinesh Chandimal and Dimuth Karunaratne have already opted out of the upcoming tour due to security issues.
