Pakistan tour withdrawal: Sri Lanka Cricket prevent players from playing T20 leagues

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket prevent Thisara Perera and Niroshan from playing in the majority of the T20 league as they refused to tour Pakistan.

According to details Sri Lanka Cricket has denied Thisara Perera and Niroshan no-objection certificate (NOC) to play in the Caribbean Premier League, and also prevent from playing in the majority of the T20 league as they refused to tour Pakistan. “It is the board’s policy that if there is a national tour for which a player might reasonably be picked, that player will not be granted an NOC to play in a foreign league if he or she withdraws from national commitments voluntarily” Ashley de Silva CEO of Sri Lankan Cricket Board Said. He also expressed serious dismay that so many frontline Sri Lanka players had refused to visit Pakistan, despite the fact that the board’s security assessments had concluded that the tour was safe.

Reportedly, Pakistan and Sri Lanka T20 and ODI series to be played later this month which includes Three One Day International and Three T20 matches.
