State does not exist anywhere in Islamabad, law does not apply to elite: Court remarks

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the case against illegal constructions on the banks of Rawal Dam was heard in the Islamabad High Court.

CDA chairman Amir Ali Ahmed appeared in court. Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah while talking to Chairman CDA said that we want to understand the matter, it is completely illegal, the law is nowhere to be seen, it seems that the state exists nowhere, things get better whenever it is brought to the notice of the Prime Minister.

The court inquired as to what was planned in Zone 3 and 4 in the Master Planners. On which the Chairman CDA said that Zone Four was then given a completely green area in the master plan. The court questioned why the FIA and other agencies were involved in the real estate business. Whatever issue in Islamabad is raised, a violation of law by the elite is observed.

The CDA chairman told the court that the master plan was amended in 1992 to allow 20 kanal farms in Zone-IV. The court inquired about the number of CDA chairmen who have also been chief commissioners. Does the Revenue Officer also fall under these two posts? The CDA chairman told the court that the two chairmen have also been CDA chief commissioners.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah asked how the FIA, which is involved in the real estate business, can stop it. Cheif Justice said,”Conflict of interest is the biggest obstacle. You are the relevant authority to enforce the law.” To this the CDA chairman said that the action is being taken and he also briefed about housing societies.

The court asked that in this case you are not able to enforce the law, can you take any action? Tell this court the truth. On which the Chairman CDA said that it is difficult to admit but we will do our best. The court said, “Have you seen the condition of the district courts? No one can go there, ordinary people are the ones who go there and that is the reason that the condition of district courts is such. The law doesn’t apply to the elite so they don’t go over there.”
