Strict legal action to be taken for not wearing face masks
Lahore, 28th March: With an alarming increase in coronavirus cases in Lahore, Pakistan, the provincial government has imposed strict restrictions on the citizens. According to the report of Baaghi TV, a decision has been taken by the Punjab government to register cases against those who do not wear face masks while in public. As per reports, wearing a face mask has become mandatory from March 28th onwards as per the tougher measures announced by the NCOC in its meeting today. It has also been decided during the NCOC session on Sunday to set up joint control room of police and administration in Lahore to view the coronavirus situation in the provincial capital. DIG Lahore, Ghulam Muhammad Dogar has announced the implementation of government orders with immediate affect. He said that protecting the lives of the people of Punjab is the top priority and added that masks are mandatory in the province. As per reports from Baaghi TV, the new rules apply that a failure to wear a mask can result in fines and up to 6 months in prison.
