China has expressed concern over India’s recent military operations targeting areas in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), urging both nations to avoid escalating tensions.

Responding to the strikes, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday described India’s early morning action as ‘regrettable’ and called for restraint.

“We are concerned about the ongoing situation. India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbours. They are also China’s neighbours,” the spokesperson said.

“We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation,” the spokesperson added.
