Sunday, Jun 14th: Provincial Food Minister Aleem Khan has said that the decision of Rs 70 per kg price of sugar will be fully implemented. According to the provincial minister, clear instructions have been issued to the administration across Punjab. The price of sugar is being significantly reduced due to the personal interest of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

We will not allow anyone to increase the basic necessities unnecessarily, the senior provincial minister said in a statement, adding that a clear reduction in sugar prices after petrol is very welcome. Citizens will get significant relief in all areas.

Aleem Khan said that those who make illicit profits in the name of sugar will be dealt severely. Prime Minister Imran Khan is pushing for price stability. The opposition should also appreciate the reduction in sugar prices. Like sugar, we will try to keep flour prices stable. Wherever there is a violation, the administration will take strict action.

The Ministry of Industries and Production has written a letter to the Sugar Mills Association instructing the Chinese people to make arrangements for the availability of Rs 70 per kg while the Chief Secretary Punjab has mobilized to ensure the availability of cheap sugar. The Mills Association says it is ready to provide 60,000 tonnes of sugar at Rs 70 per kg.
